Best Practices for Alum Volunteers

We’re thrilled and grateful that you are committing to volunteer for Vassar College and/or the Alumnae/i Association of Vassar College (AAVC). Thank you! The first step in activating your volunteer role for FY24 (July 1, 2023 – June 30, 2024) is to read and agree to our best practices for Vassar’s Alum Volunteers.

By activating/reactivating your volunteer role, you agree to:

• Serve as an ambassador for the College and communicate constructively with peers and staff
• Value diversity, equity and inclusion and abide by the College’s Non-Discrimination policy
• Follow the College’s Statement on Restricted and Confidential Data (Microsoft Word file download)
• Refer any media inquiries to Vassar’s Office of Communications
• Report potential conflicts of interest to the Associate Vice President and Executive Director of AAVC
• Understand that you may be asked to step down if you do not abide by these best practices

Finally, we are aiming to reach 100% participation among all alum volunteers during Generation Vassar (February). Your philanthropic support at any level—in addition to your time and talent—makes a strong statement about your vote of confidence in the college. Every alum, any amount, every year.
